A long time...

Unfortunately, it's been a while since I've posted. I've a number of personal issues going on and those needed to be resolved, to some extent. While they're not solved completely, I plan on getting back to the posting every day stuff I was doing before. The political world is hotter than ever, with a corrupt White House and a corrupt governor in the Frankfort. It seems like there's plenty to be done and lots to talk about.

One thing I will mention is WLAP 630's new morning talk show host, Ferrell Wellman. Dave Baker quit and Wellman took over. I'd say he's probably as good as it gets for this kind of thing. He's got nearly 2 decades as reporter in Frankfort and while his show may have conservative leanings, I'd say he'll give a fair shake to whatever comes down the pike. I also like him because he was one of my professors in college. He was certainly one of the best.

I'll see you tomorrow.

Not posted recently...

I've not posted recently... I've been pretty busy to be honest. I've lost about 9 pounds I'm hoping to keep going although the last couple of weeks have not been so good on the diet. I've eaten entirely too much junk. I'm hoping to have reasonable weigh in but we shall see.

I did receive some encouragement though. This weekend, when we traveled out of town, we stopped at an outlet mall. A number of the stores I wished to shop in didn't carry stuff in my size. So... I will buckle down and do the job. Hopefully, I can make some headway.

A bit of Chili humor

I found this quite amusing for some reason.

Did I mention I picked up some hot sauces this weekend? One's a fairly flavorful chili-pepper based concoction. The other is jalapenos and habaneros. It'll open up your sinuses.

The Weekend Was SoSo

The weekend was somewhat difficult as we traveled. Perhaps the toughest part might have been the dinner on Sat. It was good but there wasn't enough of it. My in-laws are trying WW's core plan. The meal they had was good. It was a bourbon glazed pork tenderloin, asparagus and french-fried sweet potatoes. I'm ok with asparagus, although it's not my favorite. The same could be said with sweet potato french fries. The tenderloin rocked though. The problem is there wasn't enough of it.

Today wasn't so good either. The wife and I were both hungry so we both elected to stop and then ate too much. I think the crucial error was when we ordered the cheese fries. The steak was ok. I didn't eat all of it. The saled was good as were the mixed vegies I got with the steak. I also, naturally, drank too much soda. I could've done better, but I've also done a lot worse.

I picked up some good hot sauces though. They have a wee bit of burn. I'll go more into those later though.

A good night tonight...

My first full week at WW and I lost 8.2 pounds. I'm now down to 394. Things went well. I hope I can maintain.

The weigh in...

Tonight I'm weighing early. My week has been soso. Hopefully things have gone well. Wish me luck.

Things are going ok today

Things are going ok today. I'm staying on track so far although I don't know what the points are for supper this evening. Mimi's got a salad of some kind planned and it sounds good.

Also, tomorrow will be my homemade chicken noodle soup. I think it will be mighty tasty. I might actually write the recipe down if I take the time to do it and measure it a bit.

A trying weekend

This was the first weekend of the diet and things haven't gone as well as they could. While I did have some activity in the last couple of days, I don't know that it was enough to balance what I did. The thing I will need to be careful of is to be good the rest of the week. I've got a long way to go but I WILL get there.
